The Baccarat Table

Baccarat TableThe baccarat table layout is fairly basic, and very easy to get understand. As baccarat is a game with only three types of bets: banker, player and tie, the board must reflect this simplicity. There’s 7 numbered positions on each side of the table.

Notice the numbers run from 1 to 15, without 13. As in many gambling games the unlucky number 13 is excluded from boards, and baccarat is a game based on luck. Each position has 3 betting areas associated with it, equivalent to the possible choices at the beginning of each game.

Banker is spelled out across a row of betting areas, below which Player is spelled out. Above both of these bets, and occasionally above another row of indication numbers, there is a central area for tie bets.

On a full-table, 3 dealers work the game at all times, performing in a way similar to craps dealers. 2 dealers (position 1 & position 3) either sit or stand beside the chips on one side of the table. Each of these dealers takes care of the player's bets on their end of the table.

The caller (position 5 - functional the same as the croupier) stands in the middle of the table on the opposed side from the dealers, and makes calls on the hands. They also direct the game play around the baccarat table.
